Fire crews in Arizona are responding to a brush fire in a riverbed near a trailer park that's led to the evacuation of about 100 residents, authorities said.
According to officials, the blaze near the tiny mining town of Kearny, Ariz., started before 11 a.m. local time Wednesday and is burning 22 acres.
A spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said deputies are assisting Kearny Fire Department with evacuations. They are evacuating about 100 residents in the Stevens Trailer Park outside of the town, the spokesman said.

The trailer park is near the riverbed where vegetation is burning. The temperature was around 100 degrees. Temperatures in the Phoenix area are expected to approach record highs for the rest of the week.
According to Arizona State Forestry, the area burning is in a river corridor with a lot of salt cedar, a non-native plant that is common near water sources in the West.
Two single-engine air tankers, two ground crews and 10 fire engines have been called to battle the blaze.
